UTPA took a plane to D.C. and headed for the White House today where they will perform in celebration of the signing of the White House Initiative on Educational Excellence for Hispanic Americans. The invitation came late last week from Juan Sepulveda, executive director of the White House Initiative on Educational Excellence for Hispanic Americans. Fourteen members of UTPA’s mariachi will perform tomorrow for President Obama and other dignitaries at 1:00 p.m. Eastern time.
