Fiesta San Antonio (April 14-24, 2016) is almost upon us, and with it, Fiesta Pops!  This year, the San Antonio Symphony’s annual Fiesta Pops concert — conducted by Akiko Fujimoto — features local artists performing the music and dance of Mexico and Latin America. San Antonio favorite Mariachi Campanas de América will pay a special tribute to the legendary Vicente Fernández, and the stage will be graced by danzantes from one the nation’s premier ballet folklórico ensembles, the Guadalupe Dance Company. A special treat will be the debut appearance of local 13-year-old singing sensation Isabel Marie Sánchez, who recently launched her debut CD titled New Girl in Town.

In dedicating her new release, Isabel Marie says: “With a humble heart, I share with you an album that was made with love, passion and commitment from start to finish — with God guiding every move and letting this dream come true.” Her debut album is available on iTunes and at your favorite record stores, as well as at H-E-B Plus and Walmart. New Girl in Town was produced by Abraham Quintanilla for his label, Q-Zone Records.

Three performances of this year’s Fiesta Pops concert will be presented at the Tobin Center’s H-E-B Performance Hall: Friday, April 15 and Saturday, April 16, both at 8:00 p.m.; and Sunday, April 17 at 2:00 p.m. Tickets are available from the Tobin Center Box Office website, by phone at 210-223-8624, and at the Tobin Center Box Office window located at 100 Auditorium Circle in San Antonio.
