Mariachi vocalists are wanted for the 2nd Annual Mariachi Music Fest in Austin June 18-19. A mariachi vocal competition will be held in addition to a concert featuring Mariachi Vargas de Tecalitlan.

The vocal competition will be held outside City Hall on Friday at 1:30 p.m. Vocalists may compete with live mariachi music accompaniment or a pista (music bed). No pre-audition tape or CD is required. Interested participants should email laura@mariachimusic.com for a vocal competition registration form or call 210-225-3353. Austin area mariachi vocalists are encouraged to participate. The competition is open to both students and adults.
