The event is presented by the Wagner Noel Performing Arts Center named after the new fine arts complex that will open on the campus of UTPB in late 2011 or early 2012. Plans are to utilize the Mariachi Vargas concert to establish an annual mariachi music event in West Texas showcasing the best of mariachi music entertainment in the world.
