People en Espanol magazine is bringing the Festival People en Espanol  to San Antonio, TX on labor day weekend and the Mariachi Vargas Extravaganza winners, Karen Zavala and Texas State mariachi group, Mariachi Nueva Generacion, are extremely excited to be apart of this bash! The Festival People en Espanol  is a 2-day celebration of Hispanic culture and entertainment that will be set on August 31 (Saturday) and September 1st (Sunday). The festival includes FREE public daytime activities at the Henry B. Gonzalez Convention Center and live performances each evening at the Alamodome. On August 31, Univision’s most popular radio personality, Eddie “Piolin” Sotelo will host the Mariachi Vargas Extravaganza winners at 12 p.m. at the Alamodome. Karen Zavala was picked by the world renowned Mariachi Vargas de Tecalitlan as the “Best in the U.S. Vocalist”  at the 18th Annual Mariachi Vargas Extravaganza. Texas State mariachi group, Mariachi Nueva Generacion won 1st place in the College/University category at the 18th Annual Mariachi Vargas Extravaganza group competition and will be accompanying Karen Zavala at the festival. More performances during this festival include Gloria Estefan, Alejandro Fernandez, Demi Lovato, Wisin y Yandel, 3 Ball MTY, Frankie J, Kat Dahlia and the pride of San Antonio Sebastien de la Cruz.
