Time to tune your instrument and suit up. The 24th Annual Mariachi Vargas Extravaganza workshop and competition registration opens Sept. 1 for groups and individuals.
This year’s Extravaganza kicks off on Sunday, Nov. 11 and ends with the grand finale Mariachi Vargas concert on Sunday, Nov. 18.
The National Vocal Competition will take place in the evening Friday, November 16, a change from our usual Saturday morning time slot.

On Saturday, November 17, students gather in the morning to participate in the mariachi workshops. Groups will go on to compete at the National Group Competition in the evening on the 17th.
After last years amazing response, the Mariachi Vargas Extravaganza is bringing back the National High School Group Final on Sunday, November 18.
All events will take place at the Lila Cockrell Theatre and the Henry B. González Convention Center.

The registration process is simple and can be completed online at mariachimusic.com.
Early registration for the groups and individuals ends on Friday, October 19.
After this date, a “Late Registration” will be available at an increased rate until Friday, November 2. After November 2, registrations will not be accepted.
