Boerne gets a “A Taste of the Mariachi Extravaganza” with Nayelli Peña and Los Paisanos

Join Mariachi Extravaganza Grand Champion Vocalist Nayelli Peña and UTSA’s Mariachi Los Paisanos at “A Taste of the Mariachi Extravaganza” at the Cave Without A Name in Boerne, TX on Saturday, October 12, at 7:00 PM. This concert will give audiences a taste of the exceptional talent that attendees can expect to see at the Mariachi Extravaganza this year.

About the Featured Artists

Nayelli Peña is returning to A Cave Without A Name by popular demand after a sold-out show in May earlier this year. Peña, an award-winning vocalist from Grulla, TX, has been captivating audiences since the age of 13, when she won the Mariachi Extravaganza Vocal Competition’s middle school category. She was later crowned “Grand Champion Vocalist” in 2022, performing in front of 2,300 people at the Lila Cockrell Theatre in San Antonio. Peña has opened for Mariachi Nuevo Tecalitlán, Mariachi Sol de Mexico, and Mariachi Los Camperos, and has won numerous other competitions, including Festiba in Edinburg and the Nuestra Cultura Mariachi Association Competition in Brownsville.

Accompanying Peña will be Mariachi Los Paisanos from The University of Texas at San Antonio. Directed by Michael Acevedo, Los Paisanos is San Antonio’s premiere collegiate mariachi group, and in recent years, has recruited many award-winning vocalists and instrumentalists. The group will feature vocalists Taytum Rangel, Daniella Bowerman, Osvaldo Chacon, and Anthony Alvarado, who, like Peña, are sure to impress. Also performing is Leylanie Rodriguez, a talented up-and-coming vocalist from Grulla, TX, who plays with the award-winning group Mariachi Grulla de Plata.
