Hey guys…..the 25TH Annual Mariachi Vargas Extravaganza will be here in the blink of an eye. Before you know it, you and your group will be standing on the stage of the Lila Cockrell Theatre performing a set that you’ve put sweat, blood, and tears into, right in front of “El mejor mariachi del mundo, Mariachi Vargas de Tecalitlan.”
We are so excited for December to arrive and witness what you and your group have prepared for the 25th Annual Mariachi Vargas Extravaganza. The time to register is now! Registration is officially opened, and, with that comes an early registration special. This will be going on from September 1ST – October 31ST. Make sure to take advantage of this amazing offer before the first price increase on Nov. 1. Registration rates vary between groups, individuals, and directors so make sure to check out our website for more information.
If you are a vocalist who wishes to enter our National Vocal Competition, please complete an individual registration form. This must be completed whether you are registering with or without your school group. Submit a YouTube link for your preliminary audition on or before October 1.st. For more information on vocal submissions please visit Mariachimusic.com. Being crowned Grand Champion, or just competing in the National Vocal Competition, has its perks. Winners get the honor of opening up for Mariachi Vargas in concert on Sat., Dec. 7 at the Lila Cockrell Theatre. In addition, they are first in line to represent the Extravaganza in special performances and may even appear on television to say the least. Late submissions to the competition will not be accepted so make sure to register as soon as possible and read all of the rules outlined online. Directors, there is one more thing that you might want to know before you get back to rehearsal. We know the beginning of the year can be a bit hectic. You are going to get busy and wait to the last minute to register your group. To avoid this, we are going to give you an incentive to register your group as soon as possible.
