Celebrate Dia de los Muertos with Ballet Nepantla in a FREE performance of “MISTICA” Oct. 30

The New York City based dance company Ballet Nepantla will perform “MISTICA” Thursday, October 25th at 6:45 pm. at Southwest ISD Legacy High School in Von Ormy, Texas (San Antonio). The performance is FREE thanks to a grant made possible by CULTIVAR & Texas A&M University San Antonio along with additional support from the Herrera Law Firm, Southwest ISD and Muñoz Public Relations.

Ballet Nepantla is based in New York City and was founded by South Texas native Andrea Guajardo and Martin Rodriguez from Guadalajara. “MISTICA” is a Dia de los Muertos-themed show that pays tribute to lost loved ones through extraordinary dance and choreography. The dance company consists of 11 professional dancers from throughout the world who join together fusing traditional Ballet Folklorico with contemporary dance and traditional ballet. The result is an invigorating experience that ignites the spirit and touches the soul while elevating cultural pride and appreciation for the arts among all audiences.

Ballet Nepantla was founded in 2017. Since then, they have performed throughout the United States. Most recently, they toured with Los Tigres del Norte in their “La Lorteria Tour” in dozens of markets. Their upcoming Texas Tour consists of the following dates:

October 25, 2025 – San Benito Cultural Heritage Museum, San Benito, TX
October 26, 2025 – Zapata High School Auditorium, Zapata, TX
October 29, 2025 – LFCISD Performing Arts Center, Los Fresnos, TX
October 30, 2025 – Southwest ISD Legacy High School Theatre, San Antonio, TX
November 1, 2025 – Uvalde Grand Opera House, Uvalde, TX

Ballet Nepantla will return to San Antonio December 6 for an appearance during the 31st Annual Mariachi Extravaganza at the Lila Cockrell Theatre. Tickets can be purchased here.
