Carlos Martínez and Alberto Alfaro
Guadalajara natives Carlos Martínez and Alberto Alfaro will lead a special Noche de Cultura presentation at the Instituto Cultural de México as part of the 20th annual Mariachi Vargas Extravaganza. This one-hour FREE appearance occurs on Wednesday, November 19, at 7:00 p.m.
Carlos Martínez was recently appointed musical director of Mariachi Vargas de Tecalitlán, which has long been known as the greatest mariachi in the world. Carlos is the most recent addition to Mariachi Vargas, where he also serves as a lead vocalist and violinist. Alberto “Beto” Alfaro is a 14-year veteran of the group, who is also a lead vocalist and violinist. Carlos and Beto will discuss their music, travels, and experiences—as well as their upcoming concert in San Antonio,—on Saturday, November 22 at the Lila Cockrell Theater.
