Karenn Lazo- Best in US 2010 Winner- Mariachi Vargas Extravaganza
Mariachi aficionados have an opportunity to relive some special moments from the 16th Annual Mariachi Vargas Extravaganza competitions. The 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place winners of each category in the vocal and group competitions have been posted on Youtube http://www.youtube.com/user/mariachimusicdotcom. The group competition was held on Friday, December 3, 2010, and the vocal competition on Saturday, December 4 both at the Municipal Auditorium.
The San Antonio Mariachi Vargas Extravaganza competition is the largest and longest running of it’s kind, highlighting the most talented mariachi students in Texas and across the country. In previous years, universities such as Berklee School of Music in Boston and Harvard University have participated in the Extravaganza.
