Meet the band behind Sebastien De La Cruz

Members of the mariachi group are mostly from San Marcos, Austin and San Antonio and are students or graduates of Texas State University and members or former members of the University’s award winning Mariachi Nueva Generacion. Mariachi Nueva Generacion has won top honors as the best mariachi in the U.S. among colleges and universities during San Antonio’s Mariachi Vargas Extravaganza. Mariachi Charros de Oro is made up of some of the most talented mariachi musicians in Texas.  Members include Baldemar Villarreal on guitarron, Jesus Rocha on vihuela, Robert Moreno on guitar, Eric Peña and Hector Bermea on trumpet and Celeste Rios, Amanda Vaquera, Melissa Hernandez and Victor Martinez on violin. The group’s performance on AGT on June 4 was impressive. Charros de Oro had a strong sound and did an excellent job backing up Sebastien with his outstanding rendition of La Charreada. The group will accompany Sebastien on AGT during the Las Vegas round airing June 25-27.

I am not sure why there were different band members at the Las Vegas show but it did to me show the Austin band members were quit better. Here’s hoping the band in New York sound strong especially the guitar players.
