Whether you attended the most mesmerizing and fascinating Mariachi Vargas de Tecalitlan concert this year or not, be sure to tune in Sunday, December 23 at 10:30 A.M. to watch the 18th Annual Mariachi Vargas Extravaganza on your television screen on San Antonio’s Telemundo station KVDA- Channel 60! The 30-minute special includes an appearance with KVDA’s Esmeralda Medillin and features guest celebrity MC Steven Michael Quezada of Breaking Bad and performances with first place winners of the 18th Annual Mariachi Vargas Extravaganza Competitions. Performances will feature Veterans Middle School’s Mariachi Juvenil de America and Rio Grande City High School’s Mariachi Cascabel. Also featured is Texas State University’s Karen Zavala as “Best Mariachi Vocalist in the U.S.” accompanied by the award-winning Texas State University – Mariachi Nuevo Generacion.

Be sure to invite the whole family to experience the best of mariachi music and see a special performance with Steeven Sandoval singing “Por Amor” in his final concert with the world’s preeminent Mariachi Vargas de Tecalitlan. Steeven has played violin and sung with Mariachi Vargas for 14 years and announced he will leave Mariachi Vargas during the San Antonio concert to spend more time with his family and pursue other interests.
