New Spanish TV Reality Show Seeks Mariachi Vocalists

La Voz Kids is a brand new show that will air on the Telemundo Network beginning Spring 2013. The show is produced by the same creators as The Voice which airs on NBC. But this version will be different as it is just for kids between 7-14 years old with music that appeals to Hispanic audiences.

Producers of the show will be hosting auditions in 9 cities beginning January 5 in Miami and ending in Phoenix on Feb. 3. They’ll visit Los Angeles, New York City, Houston, Dallas, San Antonio, Chicago and Puerto Rico in between. Production of the show will be held in Miami beginning in March. The show will be filmed in Spanish and feature music relevant to the Hispanic market including Musica International, Salsa/Merengue, Mariachi, Latin Pop, Rock, Bachata, Cumbia, Regatton, Regional Mexican and more.

Those interested can check out www.lavozkidscasting.com. You’ll be asked to complete a short online registration form. From there, you’ll be contacted by a casting director that will provide you with further instruction on where auditions will be held in your city. For questions call the hotline at 1-855-869-5437 or you can call me at 210-225-3353 and I’ll do my best to help.

La Voz Kids offers a great opportunity to start a singing career at a young age. Celebrity judges will work with students on a weekly basis as they do on The Voice. The winner will receive a recording contract with Universal Music and a scholarship.

Talpa Media based out of Los Angeles is producing the show with a ground team in Miami who is spearheading the project. All Mariachi Vargas Extravaganza vocal competition participants between the ages of 7-14 are encouraged to audition.

THERE IS NO SUCH THING AS “MARIACHI VOCALIST”. PLEASE EDUCATE YOURSELF ON THE PROPER TERMINOLOGY. THE POWER OF TV IS TOO STRONG TO ALLOW THIS TO PASS. TEACH THE NEXT GENERATION! THE PROPER TERMINOLOGY FOR A SINGER ONLY OF RANCHERA MUSIC IS SIMPLY “RANCHERA SINGER”…. KUDOS ON INCLUDING THAT GENRE IN YOUR COMPETITION BUT PLEASE GET IT RIGHT!!!!
