As part of the 6th Annual Corpus Chrisit Mariachi Music Fest a regional mariachi vocal competition will be held on Saturday, October 12 at the American Bank Center Selena Auditorium. The competition is open to anyone interested in participating.
There is no age limit and adults and youth who live in the coastal bend area are welcome to participate. Interested participants should submit a recording or link to a youtube video via email to lyndsey@mariachimusic.com by Monday, September 30. Submit your entry with your complete name, age, name of the song, cell phone number, email address and the name of the school you attend if applicable. The top 10 vocalists will be invited to compete on Saturday October 12 at 4 pm. Finalists will be notified by email October 1. Vocal finalists may compete with a music bed or live mariachi accompaniment. All 10 finalists will compete in an open category and one winner will be invited to open for Mariachi Vargas de Tecalitlan on Saturday, October 12 at the Selena Auditorium at 7:30 p.m. Also, the winner must be able to perform with a live mariachi accompaniment.
