Get your trajes ready and start practicing because the 19th Annual Mariachi Vargas Extravaganza competition registration is now open! To register for this years Extravaganza go onto www.mariachimusic.com and look under Mariachi Vargas Extravaganza. Click on the “Registration” page to complete the forms. The Extravaganza will be December 1-7 with the workshops and competitions starting on Friday, December 6. The location for the workshops and competitions remains the same as last year — the Henry B. Gonzalez Convention Center and the Lila Cockrell Theater. The host hotel is the Grand Hyatt which is located within walking distance from the Convention Center and Lila Cockrell Theater. Register by Tuesday, November 5 to take advantage of the early registration rate which remains at $55 for groups of 10 or more. Late registration is November 15. One more important deadline to remember is the vocal competition deadline. Entries must be submitted via MP3 files emailed to ally@mariachimusic.com by Tuesday, October 1.
