The segment includes an interview with 2012 “Best Mariachi in the US” vocal winner Karen Zavala and spotlights her outstanding performance in Laredo, Texas on Friday, October 11. Also included is an interview with San Antonio’s very own Raul “Jr.” Cuellar who performed as a guest artist with Mariachi Vargas during many of their U.S. performances this year. There’s also a snapshot of Karenn (Lazo) Schiefelbein who was selected by Mariachi Vargas as the “Best Vocalist in the U.S.” in 2010 and a plug for this year’s Mariachi Vargas Extravaganza.
