Congratulations MVE Class of 2020!

Thousands of students have participated in the Mariachi Vargas Extravaganza over the past 25 years of and each and everyone of you is special to us. While there are some of you who we may only see once, many attend annually and grow up right before our eyes. Your talent inspires us to work hard in preparation of the best experience for you at the Extravaganza and beyond. Many of you may not realize how much you are thought of, and how you bring smiles to our faces when we see you in person or in videos and photos, but you bring us great joy and pride over and over each and every year. With the COVID-19 pandemic in place, we wanted to do something special for mariachi graduating seniors, leave you with some words of wisdom and take this opportunity to share our well wishes to graduates.

Graduation is a significant time in our lives, and we want to take this opportunity to recognize past Mariachi Vargas Extravaganza students who are part of the 2020 graduating class. So this year, we invited all of you who are graduating from high school or from a college/university, who have participated in the Mariachi Vargas Extravaganza or the Mariachi Extravaganza Summer Camp, to submit photos of yourself in mariachi and graduation attire. Thanks to those of you who responded, as it brought back so many beautiful memories and made us proud to share your success in our new Mariachi Vargas Extravaganza Graduation Gallery.

This gallery will remain very special to us for many years to come as year after year we are truly blessed by those of you who cross our paths. You may think, “Oh, how will they ever remember me?,” but we see you all and either know you by name or recognize your faces. There are even those who we have seen grow from elementary school all the way to this graduation. Many of you have continued in mariachi careers and have even gone on to be some of our workshop instructors and mariachi directors who now bring their own students to the Mariachi Vargas Extravaganza. Well, now that you’re in our gallery, you’ll be remembered forever and we hope that you’ll take these words of wisdom wherever you go.

Follow your passion. If you choose a career path that you love, it will never feel like work. Continue to promote our beautiful culture and be proud of who you are. Know that your talents contribute significantly towards enhancing the quality of life for our community and remember that youth, talent and education is a powerful combination that can be used to make the world a better place. Remember to pay it forward and smile along the way. Think big, follow your dreams and do what you love better than anyone else.

We wish you all much luck and success in your future endeavors and know that we will always be here for you. Please stay connected with us at the Mariachi Vargas Extravaganza and know that you will always be welcomed with open arms and you will always be a part of our Mariachi Vargas Extravaganza family and history. Congratulations for all of your accomplishments and for making it through one of the most trying periods in our lifetime.

¡Muchas felicidades!
