Experience mariachi music at its very best with the next generation of young and talented vocalists during the Mariachi Extravaganza Summer Camp Recital. Performers include finalists from the annual Mariachi Extravaganza National Vocal Competition and participants from the weeklong summer camp who will showcase their exceptional talent in solo and group performances. 

The Mariachi Extravaganza Summer Camp Recital is a culmination of the weeklong Mariachi Extravaganza Summer Vocal Camp where aspiring mariachi vocalists hone their skills in mariachi voice under the direction of esteemed mariachi vocal instructors: Octavio Moreno, Vanessa Alonzo, Jonathan Palomar and Alexa Posas. 

The Mariachi Extravaganza Summer Camp is an extension of the Annual Mariachi Extravaganza best known for attracting top-tier talent in its highly competitive national group and vocal competitions. 

The Mariachi Extravaganza Summer Recital will be held Friday, June 28 at 7:30 p.m. at the Tobin Center of the Performing Arts Carlos Alvarez Studio Theatre located at 100 Auditorium Circle. Nearly 50 young artists will perform including Mariachi Extravaganza National Vocal Finalists Nelly Martinez Garay from San Antonio, Tatum Rangel from Seguin, Lorraine Garza from Roma, and Marianna Rowan from Uvalde. Vocalists will be accompanied by the award-winning Mariachi Los Paisanos from the University of Texas at San Antonio.

The Mariachi Extravaganza Summer Recital is a production of MPR (Muñoz Public Relations). MPR also produces the Annual Mariachi Extravaganza which is now in its 30th consecutive year.

The Mariachi Extravaganza takes place December 5-7, 2024 at the Lila Cockrell Theater in San Antonio.
