The Mariachi Extravaganza returns to San Antonio November 30th through December 2nd at the Lila Cockrell Theatre for the 29th consecutive year. Mariachi Nuevo Tecalitlán from Guadalajara returns by popular demand to headline the music festival.
The Mariachi Extravaganza celebrates Mexico’s signature musical genre with a weeklong music festival that attracts thousands of mariachi musicians and aficionados from throughout the world. The highlight of the event is a concert featuring the best of the U.S. and Mexico in a grand finale show with national, award-winning mariachi groups and vocalists and La Excelencia de Mexico Mariachi Nuevo Tecalitlán as the headliners.
Mariachi Nuevo Tecalitlán made their debut performance at the 28th Annual Mariachi Extravaganza in November. The group’s awe-inspiring arrangements, vocals and musicianship impressed audiences and students alike. Mariachi Nuevo Tecalitlán wowed students in workshops and master classes and meticulously judged the 3 National competitions which are a staple of the Mariachi Extravaganza.
