The son of Mariachi Vargas’ trumpet player Federico Torres premiered the new book FEDES at Texas State University’s La Feria Del Mariachi in San Marcos May 1.
FEDES was written by Federico Torres and his son Federico (also a trumpet player). It’s the very first mariachi trumpet method book that has ever been written and much needed in the mariachi music industry.
Federico Torres has played the trumpet for the century old Mariachi Vargas de Tecalitlan for 44 years! The book was available for purchase during Texas State’s 11th Annual Mariachi Conference. The conference recognized Angeles Ochoa with the 2010 “La Voz de Oro” Lifetime Achievement Award. More at feriadelmariachicom.
