Jorge Alberto Aguayo Núñez nació el 13 de octubre de 1980 en Nochistlán, Zacatecas, un pueblo que ha producido muchos trompetistas sobresalientes. Su padre, Francisco Aguayo, al igual que su hermano y sus tíos, se dedicaban a la música de mariachi. Jorge Alberto Aguayo Núñez was born on October 13, 1980 in Nochistlán, Zacatecas, a town that has produced many outstanding trumpet players. His father, Francisco Aguayo, as well as his brother and uncles, were all mariachi musicians. At age 13, Jorge began studying the trumpet with Jesús Medina of nearby Yahualica, Jalisco. The Mariachi Vargas Extravaganza is less than a month away, and lots of excitement is building up for this year’s event. Vocal finalists have been posted on mariachimusic.com, and the deadline for groups to register is Friday, November 4. Registration rates increase after that, so be sure to register at mariachimusic.com by this Friday. Excitement is also building in regards to Mariachi Vargas’ participation in the Extravaganza.
